Roopali Phadke is a Professor of Environmental Studies, where she has taught since 2005. She also served as a Visiting Scholar at the Institute on the Environment at the University of Minnesota.
She received her PhD from the Univ. of California Santa Cruz in Environmental Studies and served as a National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellow in the Science, Technology and Society Program at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Her teaching and research focus on energy and climate policy and community based research. She recently completed a multiyear US NSF study titled “Mining Futures”. She is currently the PI on a NSF grant on the future of Mississippi River infrastructure.
Dr. Phadke also served on the Governing Council of the Society for the Social Studies of Science (4S), and is a Trustee with World Learning, Inc. She also serves on several local nonprofit advisory boards including Northern Lights/Northern Spark.
