Casa Hispana

Casa Hispana is a residence near campus where students live with two native speakers in an environment of Spanish and Latin American culture and the Spanish language. The house hosts visitors and holds cultural and academic activities throughout the year.

Experience living in a house where you can speak Portuguese with other Macalester students! Here you will be able to attend cultural events, learn about other Lusophone countries, and practice new skills all in a warm community!

Study Abroad

Recently students have participated in study abroad programs in many Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Portugal, and Spain. They have enrolled in programs of language, literature, and culture, as well as in the natural and social sciences. In most of these programs students have found it possible to enroll in internships or independent studies.
