(Re)Assess Your Substance Use
We all cope with life stressors in different ways: we binge-watch shows, we go for walks, we play video games, we eat chocolate, we talk with friends, we cry, we use substances. Some of these coping strategies, while reducing psychological pain in the short term, don’t help us over time. Do you wonder if your substance use (whether it’s alcohol, marijuana, or other drugs) is causing things to happen in your life that you did not intend or want? You can assess your own use with the following three tools.
