Enhancing academics and student experiences.

There are a variety of ways to help enhance campus life and student experiences, now and into the future:

  • Support right now! Several Macalester Fund designations allow you to direct your gift of any size in support of students–Program Support, Student Emergency Aid, Racial Equity Support, and Support It All. Gifts at the Grand Society level ($1,600 and above) allow for the most transformational impact.

Open Pantry

Help ensure all students have access to healthy food in a timely manner.

  • Immediate needs:
    • Gifts of any size to the Macalester Fund Student Emergency Aid designation
    • $200,000 endowed fund
  • Giving arrangement: Outright or future intentions

Travel Fund

Assist in making it possible for students to participate in off campus learning experiences, such as conferences, internships, student/faculty research, and academic careers.

Honors Program

Enable qualified seniors to undertake substantial independent work that culminates in a project of exceptionally high quality. Funds support activities such as data collections, digital production, and research for these projects.

Department and Research: Endowed and Current Year Use

 Amplify impact by creating and supporting existing funds that meet donor interests.

  •  Young Researchers Endowed Fund in the Sciences provides summer research opportunities primarily to first- or second-year students.
    • Minimum gift amount: $25,000
  • Macalester Faculty and Student Collaborative Research Endowed Fund provides students the opportunity to work with faculty on original scholarly research in a variety of disciplines. 
    • Minimum gift amount: $25,000
  • Steven Carl Bennett Memorial Fund (Forensics) provide support for students in debate.
    • Minimum gift amount: $25,000
  • New Endowed Fund for Specific Department or Research 
    • Minimum: $125,000

Endowed Professorships and Staff Positions

Increase the number of endowed positions to recruit and retain the best professors and staff and help us live out our mission.
