In January, Professor James Dawes published an article in The Conversation titled “From besting Tetris AI to epic speedruns – inside gaming’s most thrilling feats.” In his words, it’s about “humans versus AI, but without the apocalypse.” You can check it out here, and stay tuned for a Literary Salon hosted by Professor Dawes on video games, coming soon to an English department near you!
Last fall, Professor Ben Voigt had several poems published in literary magazines. “An Underworld” and “The Sound of Children Screaming Has Been Removed,” were published in AGNI 98, along with an accompanying essay on the AGNI blog titled “Source Engine: Modding Poetry.” He also published a poem, “Mirrors and Windows” in issue 12 of the Bennington Review, and had another, “Schenectady,” in the “Slow Violence” themed issue of West Branch. Professor Voigt also has poems forthcoming soon in Fence and the next issue of Cave Wall. Congratulations, Professor!
Professor Michael Prior was a visiting writer at the University of Nevada Las Vegas’ Black Mountain Institute last year, where he gave a craft talk for graduate students. Thank you to Professor Prior for sharing!
