Nehemiah Lucas was born in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. Growing up watching movies such as Stomp the Yard and playing with musical instruments developed his passion for dance and music. Nehemiah’s dance journey began in 2015, beginning as an animation dancer then moving on to Krump two years later. His love for Krump developed to then producing music for the dance in 2018, being inspired by artists like Tight Eyes. He continuously trains in both artistic mediums simultaneously. Nehemiah has worked with various local artists in the Twin Cities’ dance scene namely Tumelo Khupe in Listen and Herbert Johnson in Momentum. Nehemiah has choreographed and performed in solo works in Pulling Back the Curtain curated by Gabriel Blackburn and Sister Solo, Being Brothers curated by Maia Maiden. Nehemiah has been a dance instructor at TU Dance Center and All-Day Studio teaching Krump to youth and adults. Nehemiah’s main goal is to start a production company that focuses on dance, music, and graphic arts. He is currently going to school for graphic design and will later advance his music career by attending Full Sail University to study music production further, moving closer to his goal.
