Lynn Farrington began a professional career in costume design at the Chimera Theater. She has been Resident Costume Designer and Costumer at Macalester College for over thirty years, and has designed over sixty main stage productions, numerous studio productions, and in more recent years has overseen department dance concerts as well. At Macalester, favorite design projects include costumes for India Song (1995), Mother Courage (2004), both productions of The Cherry Orchard (2000 and 2017), and for the site-specific piece at the James J Hill House created by “THDA: Performing Histories,” a course cross-listed with the History Department.

Ms. Farrington has had a long and prolific professional career as a freelance Costume Designer. Her design has been featured at many local theaters, including Park Square, The History Theater, Mixed Blood, Theater Mu, and The Plymouth Playhouse. For over twenty years, Ms. Farrington was the primary costume designer for Skylark Opera, where she created pieces for productions ranging from Little Shop of Horrors and The Buddy Holly Story, to The Merry Widow and A Little Night Music. She has also designed costumes for several national tours including Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Carol, Babes in Toyland and Forbidden Broadway. For many years, Ms. Farrington also designed the Medora Musical. Lynn Farrington holds a BA in Theater from Hamline University, and pursued graduate studies in Costume Design at the University of Minnesota.
