The end of the school year for most students means final exams, papers, and projects; but for the English Department, the end of the spring semester means our End-of-Year celebration! At this yearly celebration, we recognize students, faculty, community members, and organizations for their hard work and achievements this year. At this year’s End-of-Year celebration, we were so grateful to musical group Bad Bad Hats and lead singer/Visiting English Instructor Kerry Alexander for performing at the event.

We also recognized Professor Peter Bognanni’s completion as the Chair of the English Department, and we thank him, then and now, for all the hard work he does for the department. As Professor Bognanni’s role as Chair comes to an end, we welcome Professor Matt Burgess as the new Chair of the English Department for the next few years. We wish him the best of luck!

As a part of the celebration, we acknowledge those seniors who have completed an Honors Project, capstone, and participated in an independent study. We also thank and recognize the English Honors Society and its members for all their hard work.

Finally, we recognize certain seniors for English Department awards and prizes. These seniors are selected by faculty in recognition of work, achievements, and contributions to the department. We are so proud of all of our seniors and wish them luck on their future endeavors. Listed below are the award recipients.
